The legal policy initiative is to create Deed Restrictions on affordable housing. This is a critical program to ensure that housing that is deemed “affordable” will remain affordable to meet the future needs of the community. Furthermore, these restrictions place a cap on appreciation value and sale price, and allows preference to be given to local residents who are public and private service workers or who work full time in the city limits.
