What Programs are in Place to Assist Individuals and Families?

The City of St. George offers a first time home buyer program:

Congress enacts bigger and better Home Buyer Tax Credit!

  • A tax credit of up to $8,000 is now available for qualified first-time home buyers purchasing a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before April 30, 2010. In addition, a tax credit of up to $6,500 is now being provided for qualified repeat home buyers. Hurricane City: Affordable Housing Grant

Color Country Community Housing provides several programs to assist families with attainable housing needs:

The Five County Association of Governments offers a first time homebuyer program:

  • “Achieving the American Dream” program provides up to $2,000 toward down payment and closing cost assistance for homes purchased in the Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Kane and Washington Counties. For more information contact  Danna Alvey at (435) 865-0195

The Utah Housing Corporation provides resources to assist in the creation of attainable housing opportunities:
